Mark Patnode received his BFA from Purchase College and is a Fellow of the Urban Artists Initiative Hartford, CT, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and CT State Office of the Arts. Mark is a Member of the State of Connecticut Arts Council.

Listed in Who’s Who in American Art, Mark’s work has been featured in numerous museums and galleries including four Faber Birren National Color Award Shows, the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery at Wesleyan College, Alexey Von Schlippee Gallery, Real Art Ways, Hygienic Galleries, Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Neuberger Museum, Slater Memorial Museum (2013 Best in Show), Bulgarian National Palace of Culture. His work is in the Smithsonian Institution Permanent Collection.

A Silver Rose recipient from Bulgaria’s Preeminent Poet, Lyubomir Levchev, Mark was sponsored by the Griffis & Orpheus Foundations for a summer 2006 Artist Residency at the Sharon House in the village of Polkovnik Serafimovo, Smolyan, Bulgaria. His work is in the collection of Smolyan Museum.

Mark was selected by Senator Joseph Lieberman as Connecticut’s Designated Artist for the 2008 White House Christmas Tree and in 2010 Mark was selected by Governor M. Jodi Rell to create a painting of the Charter Oak for Connecticut’s 375th Anniversary. The painting resides in the Governor’s Residence Conservancy.
