Director Information

 

At our Annual Meeting on December 8, 2016, the following officers were elected:

Lindsey Blank, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Blank is a volunteer director who is also our chairman. He served on the New London Charter Revision Commission , and is a member of Southeast Area Transit (SEAT). A risk management professional, he has also conducted extensive research on urban parks and land use. His duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include preparing the agenda and presiding at all board meetings, appointing committee members, and voting on board decisions; additional duties include preparation of educational materials related to urban land use. Mr. Blank receives no compensation, and performs his duties on an "as needed" basis.

Kevin Lester, Vice Chairman of the Board

Mr. Lester is a volunteer director who is also our vice chairman. He is a founding member of the Northeast New London Neighborhood Association. He is an Electrical Engineering Supervisor at Electric Boat where he has worked since 1999. His family residence borders Riverside Park. His duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Mr. Lester receives no compensation, and performs his duties on an "as needed" basis.

Catherine Strother, Secretary

Ms. Strother is a volunteer director who serves as our secretary. She is a founding member of the Northeast New London Neighborhood Watch and secretary of the Neighborhood Alliance of New London.  A licensed Property & Casualty Agent, she sits on the Board of Insurance Professionals of Eastern Connecticut as Parliamentarian. Her family residence borders Riverside Park. Her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include recording, maintaining and distributing minutes and voting on board decisions. Ms. Strother receives no compensation, and performs her duties on an "as needed" basis.

Ronna Stuller, Treasurer

Ms. Stuller is a volunteer director who serves as our treasurer. She is a founding member of the Thames Hilltop Neighborhood Association. A preschool teacher and parent educator, she has extensive knowledge about local educational, cultural and recreational resources for families and children. Her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include presenting and keeping record of the budget, preparing financial reports, attending meetings of the board of directors and voting on board decisions. Ms. Stuller receives no compensation, and performs her duties on an "as needed" basis.

Paul Foley, Director

Mr. Foley is a volunteer director. A lifelong resident of the Riverside Park neighborhood, he was employed in the banking field for more than 40 years. He has been an active volunteer in many local organizations, including Groton Rotary, City of New London Finance Board, New London Beautification Committee, New London Main Street, and the Friends of New London Library (where he served as Treasurer). His duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions.Mr. Foley receives no compensation, and performs her duties on an "as needed" basis.

Diane Hansen, Director

Ms. Hansen is a volunteer director. She has a BS degree in Business Management and extensive experience working for municipalities and nonprofit organizations in the areas of accounting, purchasing and vital statistics. Her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Ms. Hansen receives no compensation, and performs her duties on an "as needed" basis.

Priscilla Peabody, Director

Ms. Peabody is a volunteer director. She resides in the Riverside Park neighborhood, and is active in the Hodges Square Village Association and the Kiwanis Club of New London. Ms. Peabody has considerable experience working with youth in a variety of settings. Her duties are spelled out in our bylaws, and include attending meetings of our board of directors and voting on board decisions. Ms. Peabody receives no compensation, and performs her duties on an "as needed" basis.
